As noted earlier, there is a lot of speculation about former WWE star Erick Rowan returning to WWE after he pulled out of several independent bookings, including one for East Coast Pro Wrestling (ECPW). The promotion said that Rowan pulled out because of “new contractual obligations,” which makes it sound like he’s WWE-bound.
PWInsider is reporting that Rowan was seen in Pittsburgh last week and that’s where the talent is sent to get their medical tests done before they get signed.
WWE has been dropping some teases on TV this week that hint at the return of the Uncle Howdy character. The first tease occurred at the end of the documentary on the late Bray Wyatt. At this point, all signs point towards Rowan being part of that storyline.
Another name who could be in the mix with the Howdy storyline is Braun Strowman because he is expected to return soon after being out with a neck injury.
