AEW has been using a former WWE star as a producer as they continue to grow their brand with Dynamite, Collision Rampage, and the ROH brand.
Former WWE star/trainer Scott 2 Hotty, real name Scott Garland, was with WWE in a trainer role from 2016 through 2021 for the NXT brand at the Performance Center.
Garland asked for his release, which was granted, leading to him working on the independent scene. This past July, it was reported that he had been working as a producer for All Elite Wrestling.
While appearing on Wrestling With Johners, Garland confirmed the news.
“I don’t think it’s a huge secret that I’ve been working for AEW as a producer behind the scenes, as a coach and producer there. I have an opportunity to do more with them on a regular basis. So it looks like at the beginning of the year, I’ll be going pretty hard with them if everything works out the way I hope it does. It’s exciting. It’s bittersweet because I enjoy doing these tours more than anything.”
