In an exclusive for WrestlingNews.co, Marty Jannetty was interviewed by Steve Fall about his wrestling career. The interviewed included some controversial stories about some of the wrestlers he worked with over the years. Jannetty has been accused of telling some tall tales on social media and during interviews so keep that in mind when you read what he said below. Clips are included below but if you want to the full interview, scroll towards the bottom of this page.
Marty Jannetty on Shawn Michaels barber shop window incident:
“Shawn lied about it. Shawn said, ‘It’s something I thought about with for the Nasty Boys.’ No you didn’t. You did that on spontaneous. He superkicked me so damn hard, I didn’t feel the window.”
Marty Jannetty on HBK running NXT:
“I would love to (be a trainer in NXT) because that’s what I love doing. I do seminars now. That’s my favorite thing. I love teaching the kids. It’s been like 15 years or so now.”
Marty Jannetty on his relationship with Vince McMahon:
“We love each other, not like that, but we love each other, but he thinks I’m like a problem child. Bradshaw tore my fu**ing shoulder. He gave me a clothesline so hard I couldn’t land right, but I kept working. Vince asked me, he said, ‘Marty, please come off the road.’ I’m like, ‘Why’, because I love wrestling. He said, ‘You’re 70% is better than most people’s 100%.’ He wanted me to heal up. He paid me. When my dad died, he told me, ‘Go take care of your mom’, and he paid me. He said, ‘Family is the most important thing in life’, and at that time, I didn’t know it.”
Marty Jannetty on Ultimate Warrior driving on the wrong side of the road:
“We were going to the gym. We were actually following him to the gym and it was up in Detroit. It was a one way street. He was going the wrong way and it don’t make us no better because we were following him. The police pulled him over and he jumped out of the car and ran at the police car. He was like, ‘What the f**k you want? What the f**ck are you doing.’ The police here lowered his window and he goes,’You’re going the wrong way.’”
Marty Jannetty on Hulk Hogan allegedly having a gumball machine filled with narcotics:
‘He would throw parties. He would always invite all of us. One time, when you walked in the front door, you know them gumball machines? It was mixed with drugs. You turn it and you take whatever comes out. It’s right there when you walk into the front door and three, four or five pills fall out.”
Marty Jannetty on rooming with Al Snow in a hotel:
“I love Al. That is my boy. Everybody should love him. He’s a real genuine good person. We were roommates. He didn’t f*ck around on his wife. There weren’t many of them, Tito Santana, Owen Hart. He didn’t mess around on his wife. We were rooming together, so there were a lot of girls. He had to watch. This one night, he tells it best, but this one night, the girl, somehow her head, in the hotel room, her head got bent backwards between the bed and the wall and he came over and pulled her feet.”
Marty Jannetty on relationship with Sensational Sherri:
“She was such a sweetheart. That was a badass girl, man.”
Marty was asked if they were friends: “Yes. Shawn tried to do more.”
Marty Jannetty tells a controversial Goldust story:
“You know his wife Marlena, his ex-wife. Me and him were boys. We traveled the road together. That motherf*cker is funny as sh*t. You know what he did one day? He said, ‘Can we stop right here?’ I said, ‘Why’, and it was like a porno store. He brought back a blow up doll. He was driving. He put it on me. We were riding to wherever the f*ck we were going and I’ve got to hold the damn thing, but I was willing to because when people would go by, they would look and laugh. Back to Marlena, Terri. We were both pretty wild, me and him. He called. This is when they were married and that’s why I’m scared to tell this because Dakota, their daughter, I don’t want her to hear it, but he called for me to listen to phone sex because she likes girls too. Actually, he was wanting me to have phone sex with her and I was like, ‘No way. That’s your fu**ing wife. He said, ‘Well just listen then’, because she was with another girl and it sounded pretty good.”
Marty Jannetty on the first time he met Tammy Sytch (Sunny):
“The first time I met her, she was beautiful, or was. That’s probably horrible. She goes, ‘Do you know who I am?’ I’m like, ‘No, but I want to.’ She showed me a picture. It was one of the times I got fired from the WWE and came back. They brought me back, and like Al Snow said, ‘They will always bring you back. Vince will always bring you back if he thinks he can make money with you’, and she was there. Remember the Polaroids? She brought a Polaroid picture and she goes, ‘Remember this girl?’ I was looking and it was a 14-year old, you know, or about that age. I’m looking and I’m like, ‘Is that you?’, and she goes, ‘Yep, you were my first crush.’ I’m like, ‘Okay great. I’m going to f**k you tonight. I’m gonna tear it up’, but then she goes, ‘Well, I have a boyfriend’, and it was Chris Candido.’ Man, I love that guy. I’m so sorry he’s gone. That was a good brother, man. Sunny, she was kind of a hoe. I never fu**ed her because I liked Chris so much. I don’t mean sexually, but I liked him so much. Would I have loved to f**k her? Yea, until I saw that porno she did. It looked like somebody took an ax to a tomato.”
