Chelsea Green looks to be the latest former WWE star to be brought back by Triple H.
As previously reported, WWE has a significant interest in bringing her back to the company. Pwinsider.com reports that Green filmed an exit vignette at the most recent set of Impact Wrestling TV tapings, with many people believing that she is WWE-bound following her way out of Impact Wrestling.
At the tapings, Green also worked a singles match with Mick James that is believed to be a ‘Loser Leaves Town’ match, which is likely a way to write her off television. The belief is Green wouldn’t give up her regular Impact Wrestling bookings unless she is returning to WWE.
One has to wonder whether Green’s husband, Matt Cardona, could be the next former WWE star to return as Cardona did recently say the following regarding a possible return to the company during an interview with Metro:
“I’m not trying to get back to WWE,” Cardona said. “But I’d lying if I said I never wanted to have a WrestleMania moment again, or I never wanted to wrestle at Madison Square Garden — of course I would. If Triple H called me right now, if I had that 203 — that’s the area code for Stamford, Connecticut — of course I’d pick up. But right now I’m focusing on being the best me possible, and having the most fun possible, and making the most money possible.”
“Right now I’m trying to prove that you don’t necessarily need to be in WWE or AEW to be a successful pro wrestler,” Cardona said. “But of course, the WWE Championship is something I think about every single day when I wake up. That is definitely always on my mind. I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t.”
Green’s time in WWE and NXT was impacted due to injuries as she broke her wrist twice – in her NXT TV and SmackDown TV debuts. After a three-year run with WWE, she was let go by the company alongside other names.
