Former WWE star signs with Impact Wrestling

PWInsider is reporting that Dirty Dango has signed with Impact Wrestling. WWE fans may remember him as Fandango.

This is a reversal from what he announced last year. In March of 2020, Dango announced that he would be stepping away from the ring “in a couple of months” and he said that this would be “goodbye forever.”

Dango, real name Johnny Curtis, got his start in the business in 1999 and signed with WWE developmental territory Deep South in 2006. He was part of the original version of NXT and received a big push during his first few months on the main roster in 2013, including a big win over Chris Jericho at WrestleMania 29.

Dango debuted with Impact at Bound For Glory in October when he accepted Brian Myers’ open challenge for the Digital Media Championship.

In other Impact news, PWInsider reports that Tasha Steelz requested time off. She recently signed a multi-year deal with the company but on Twitter, she hinted at plans to go elsewhere by tweeting about the “NeXT chapter.”
