Former WWE Star to Make NJPW Debut This Month

NJPW is slated to hold its All Star Junior Festival on August 19, where tournament matches, including Kevin Knight vs. Clark Connors and Francesco Akira vs. Mike Bailey, will take place.

New Japan Pro Wrestling is bringing in Enzo Amore (Real1) for the show, making it his promotional debut.

He broke into the business in 2012 after signing with WWE, where he went to train in NXT. He made his television debut as a heel before being paired with Big Cass.

On the Raw after WrestleMania 32 in 2016, Amore and Cass debuted on the main roster, where they confronted The Dudley Boyz. The following year, Cass turned on Amore, and they feuded until Amore shifted to being part of the 205 Live roster, where the show was built around him being the Cruiserweight Champion.

Amore departed in 2018 where he has since worked for MLW and other promotions.

The former WWE star will team with Jack Cartwheel & Starboy Charlie to face Rich Swann, The DKC, & Ryusuke Taguchi at All Star Junior Festival.

Other bouts confirmed for the show are Rocky Romero & Hiromu Takahashi vs. DOUKI & Low Rider vs. Blake Christian & Master Wato in a ladder match, East-West Express (Jordan Oliver & Nick Wayne) vs. El Desperado & MAO, and YOH & Matt Sydal vs. BUSHI & Shun Skywalker.
