Samuray Del Sol, also known as Kalisto, recently worked with the younger stars on the WWE NXT brand.
Fightful Select reports the former WWE star was at NXT live events this week, serving as a guest coach and producer and at the WWE Performance Center throughout the week coaching.
Kalisto handled the women’s matches as a producer. It’s unclear whether he’ll be back any time soon.
WWE released Kalisto in April 2021. He worked a tag team match with Aero Star against AAA Tag Team Champions FTR on the November 3, 2021, edition of AEW Dynamite.
At the time, the former WWE star got backlash because he mentioned on social media after the match that he “prayed and talked” with the late great Jon Huber (Brodie Lee) before the match. He was criticized for misspelling Huber’s first name and was called out by Lee’s widow, Amanda Huber, and Chris Jericho.
Fightful’s report that in the summer of 2021, Impact Wrestling had discussed bringing him in, but ultimately didn’t end up happening.
