WWE released a lot of talent and employees during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021, with some wrestlers going to other promotions while others worked the indy scene and the rest going on hiatus.
Tyler Breeze went on hiatus as he focused on his wrestling school. As previously reported, Breeze is still under contract with WWE despite the release.
While with WWE from 2010 through 2021, Breeze was mostly used as a comedy character despite his in-ring skills and was a one-time NXT Tag Team Champion with Fandango.
On Saturday night, Breeze returned to the ring at Next Generation Wrestling: Tennessee, a successful outing as he captured the NGW: TN Championship by defeating Matt Cross.
He will also work the Prestige Wrestling Roseland 6 show on September 1st in Portland, Oregon.
This bout marked his first match since teaming with Fandango to beat Imperium (Giovanni Vinci & Ludwig Kaiser) on the June 15, 2021, episode of NXT.
