Fans became concerned about Marcus “Buff” Bagwell after it was reported, based on the Cobb County records in Marietta, GA, that he was arrested on July 13th.
The records indicated that officers pulled him over on this date for speeding, which is a misdemeanor, and was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Drugs, also a misdemeanor, before being released two days later.
It seemed to be an unfortunate setback for Bagwell, who had been able to become sober with the help of Diamond Dallas Page and others in his life, after years of legal issues related to substance abuse.
The former WWE/WCW noted in a statement today on Twitter that the arrest is from years ago and he got a recent sanction for not having a document on him while traveling out of state:
“Just wanted to clarify to everyone that I am 11 months sober (tomorrow). I see there is news out that I had to spend time in jail for a DUI but this was from the original offense years ago. I did get a recent sanction because I didn’t document a recent trip out of state properly.”
It should be noted there is a separate arrest for Bagwell from March 23, 2023, for speeding and driving under the influence of drugs.
