FOX Censored “Die Rocky Die” Sign During The Rock’s Segment With The Bloodline On WWE SmackDown

If you noticed that there were issues with the FOX feed during the opening segment of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, it wasn’t just you.

Everyone who was watching the east coast feed had issues with the feed because FOX decided to censor a sign in the crowd. As seen in the photo below, a fan held up a “DIE ROCKY SIGN” and it could be seen directly in view of the hard camera.

The “DIE ROCKY DIE” sign is a callback when fans rejected his white meat babyface character in 1997 when he wrestled as Rocky Maivia. Fans would bring “DIE ROCKY DIE” signs to shows and that was eventually used in storyline as the reason why Rocky turned against the fans and why he morphed into The Rock. FOX may have not have known this when they decided to censor the sign tonight.

Also, if you missed it, The Rock issued a challenge for a tag team match at WrestleMania pitting himself and Roman Reigns against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins. If Rock and Roman lose then The Bloodline would be barred from ringside on night 2 when Cody faces Roman for the Undisputed Universal Championship. However, if Rock and Roman win then the Universal Title match on night 2 would be “Bloodline Rules,” essentially anything goes with The Bloodline involved. Click here for complete WWE Friday Night SmackDown results.
