Frontrunner host city revealed for WWE SummerSlam 2023

WWE could be taking SummerSlam to a city for the first time in three decades- Detroit, Michigan.

Fightful Select reported the city is the frontrunner for the show although nothing has been finalized just yet. Sources noted that WWE was looking at Detroit in recent months.

WWE hasn’t been to the area for Summerslam in quite some time, as the last show was in 1993 at the Palace of Auburn Hills, where the Detroit Pistons used to play. Other possible venues for the show include Ford Field, which hosted WrestleMania 23, Comerica Park, home of the Detroit Tigers, and Little Caesars Arena, home of the Detroit Pistons.

WWE has booked stadiums for the event in the last two years.

WWE will host this year’s Survivor Series at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts, on November 26, the Royal Rumble on January 28 in San Antonio, Texas, at the Alamodome, Elimination Chamber in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, at the Bell Centre on February 18 and WrestleMania 39 on April 1 and April 2 at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles CA.
