GUNTHER: I don’t compare myself to Roman Reigns or Seth Rollins

GUNTHER has been on an unbelievable run as the WWE Intercontinental Champion, the latest achievement in his successful WWE run that has spanned across from NXT UK, NXT, and the main roster.

GUNTHER is slated to defend the Intercontinental Title against The Miz at this Saturday’s Survivor Series. While speaking with Sports Illustrated, GUNTHER noted that he doesn’t compare self to World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins or Undisputed WWE Universal Champ Roman Reigns.

No comparison

“I don’t compare myself to either one of them,” said Gunther. “Seth is in a very difficult situation.”

GUNTHER noted that a new title is like a star-up where only one of them will make it while the others will disappear. He knows the challenges of the spot to be a newly crowned champion of a new title as it takes time and work to add some prestige to it.

He said Rollins, who was crowned the inaugural champion earlier this year, is doing an excellent job and one of the best wrestlers WWE has.

Roman Reigns praise

“Roman is in a completely different category. He’s been champion for so long,” GUNTHER stated before pointing out the lack of title defenses by Reigns because he doesn’t need to do so.

“It should only happen a few times of the year, very special occasions. I’m in a completely different story establishing myself. That’s something the other two don’t need to do, and I’m working to enhance the legacy of the Intercontinental championship.”

Reigns is not booked to compete at this Saturday’s Survivor Series premium live event.
