WWE has announced that Gunther will once again defend the Intercontinental Championship against Sheamus. The match will happen on the ‘season premiere of Friday Night SmackDown on October 7.
Gunther and Sheamus’ match at WWE Clash at the Castle was said by many to be the match of the night and a Match of the Year contender.
Per WWE.com, there are questions about the “potential impact” that Imperium and The Brawling Brutes will have on the match so they are teasing possible interference.
As of this writing, no other matches have been announced yet for the 10/7 SmackDown.
