Coming out of last night’s AEW Dynamite, there’s been a lot of renewed talk about the way the women’s division has been booked.
On most weeks, the women will get one match on Dynamite while the men have 3 or 4 matches on the same show and there have been fans frustrated with the overall booking of the women’s storylines.
The problems were even brought up (likely accidentally by AEW’s production) on Dynamite when after the Dr. Britt Baker, DMD vs. Taya Valkyrie match, the camera focused in on a fan holding a sign that said “Book The Women’s Division Better.”
Independent wrestler LuFusto hinted on Twitter that there may be issues backstage with the women’s roster that are unrelated to the booking. LuFisto tweeted the following:
“It’s cute how people blame booking for a bad women’s division.
Talent with too much power; talent denigrating each other; talent trash-talking potential employees so they never get in as soon as they walk in…
It starts here.
– The one you called FN French Canadian a**hole”
LuFisto did not mention anyone specifically but she has wrestled on various independent promotions and would likely have friends in AEW as well. It’s unclear what she is referring to but the women’s division has been a sore topic today on social media.
