The WWE Royal Rumble PLE is quickly coming up for the company as it takes place in just a few days from Tampa, FL at Tropicana Field.
The event
WWE holds Men’s and Women’s Royal Rumble matches at the event, with surprise appearances by returning stars, injured talent, and Hall of Famers. This year won’t be any different, with the only question being who the company will use in these roles.
One star could make his return from injury at the event, and that’s Rey Mysterio, who has publicly stated that he hoped to be back in time for the show.

The WWE Hall of Famer had knee surgery several weeks ago. WWE wrote him off television when Santos Escobar attacked him. WWE has continued the LWO-Santos Escobar storyline since then.
Pwinsider reports the word at last Friday’s SmackDown event was Mysterio would be at the Royal Rumble, although it’s unclear whether he’ll be appearing on camera or not.
It should be noted that The Undertaker and Michelle McCool are also expected to be at the Royal Rumble. Regarding Taker, he is there visiting, while it’s possible McCool is a surprise entrant like last year.
