John Cena Is Returning to WWE TV Next Month

WWE fans can look forward to seeing John Cena back on WWE television.

The former WWE Champion last wrestled when he challenged Austin Theory for the United States Championship, but lost in April at WrestleMania 39 on the show’s first night.

Cena most recently made an appearance in front of fans last month in London at the Money in the Bank PLE by doing a promo segment where he called for WWE to bring WrestleMania to Europe in the near future. This led to Grayson Waller coming out to interrupt him, and Cena put him away with an Attitude Adjustment to end the segment.

Cena did make a cameo via a pre-recorded video to comment on his rivalry with Edge, who was celebrating his career with the company last week on SmackDown.

Ryan Satin of FOX Sports reports Cena will be appearing on the September 1st episode of SmackDown from The Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

The report notes Cena will be going to India with the company for the upcoming WWE Superstar Spectacle show at the GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium on Friday, September 8th, which will be WWE’s first live event in India since 2017.

Cena took to Twitter to confirm he’ll be wrestling at the September 8th event.

“Cannot wait to reunite with the @WWE family live on #Smackdown! Especially excited to meet the #WWE Universe in India and wrestle for the FIRST TIME EVER in ! The time is NOW…. C U all VERY soon!!! @WWE @WWEIndia.”
