Kairi Sane Shares Emotional Reaction To WWE Star Being Released

Kairi Sane is one of the first WWE stars to react publicly to the company, releasing several wrestlers on Friday.

The world broke early Friday night that WWE had released Xia Li, Jinder Mahal, and Xyon Quinn. Overnight, it was reported that the company had also released Veer and Sanga. They have 90-day non-competes so they won’t be able to freely sign with any promotion until this summer. As of this writing, these are the only stars to be released.

Li signed with WWE in 2017, where she worked the Mae Young Classic tournament that year, and in 2018. Li worked the women’s Royal Rumble match in 2019 before making her NXT TV debut a few months later.

In November 2020, she was featured in a vignette with Boa, where they were paired with a mysterious woman named Mei Ying (now Wendy Choo). They finished the feud at the In Your House event with Mercedes Martinez before Li was drafted to SmackDown in October 2021, separating her from Boa and Ying. Li was moved to WWE Raw as part of the 2023 Draft.

Her last match was at the April 15th Main Event tapings, where she put over Natalya. As seen below, Sane had an emotional reaction to Li’s release:
