Kenny Omega Fired, Kazuchika Okada Signs With AEW

A big angle took place tonight on AEW Dynamite in Atlanta.

The Young Bucks went out to the ring to make some big announcements. Matt and Nicholas Jackson announced that Hangman Adam Page has been suspended for attacking the referee during his match at AEW Revolution. This is a cover reason for his absence as it’s been reported that he’s dealing with a personal issue.

The Young Bucks also referenced Kenny Omega not being around because he’s been dealing with diverticulitis. Eddie Kingston went out to the ring and a fight broke out but former NJPW IWGP Champion Kazuchika Okada walked out and attacked Kingston and it was revealed that he is now part of The Elite. Okada did the title belt gesture around his waist, signifying that he wants to challenge for Kingston’s Continental Crown Championship. It also looks like Okada vs. Omega is a match that will happen at some point when Omega is healthy.

Okada had major interest from WWE and it was said that they thought that they had a better chance at signing him than in previous years but in recent weeks reports surface saying that he was likely headed to AEW.
