Kenny Omega: MVP of AEW Hasn’t Been Me, It’s Jon Moxley

Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley were two of the biggest stars to join AEW when company President Tony Khan launched it in 2019. In fact, Moxley made his promotional debut at Double or Nothing by attacking Omega, leading to their feud.

Fast forward to now, they’re once again feuding and will take on each other inside a steel cage on AEW Dynamite this Wednesday night.

While speaking with Sports Illustrated to promote it, Omega spoke about his feud with Moxley.

“If I’m being honest, the MVP of AEW hasn’t been me,” Omega told SI. “It’s Jon Moxley. For AEW, Jon’s been the one. He’s been at almost every show. He’s bled at almost every show. There is no one higher on the blood-giving list. Maybe that’s what makes this feud so interesting. It’s someone with the notoriety from Japan against someone who was a top player from WWE. And Jon hasn’t stopped working. I was injured, but now that I’m healed up, it’s beautiful that we can restart the song and dance between Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley.”

Omega is part of The Elite, while Moxley is with the Blackpool Combat Club, the core of the latest chapter in their career. This will be the fourth time they wrestle each other in a one-on-one competition, with Omega currently having the 2-1 edge in the record books.

AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy vs. Daniel Garcia, AEW Trios Champion The House of Black vs. Bandido and Best Friends, Anna Jay AS vs. Julia Hart, and more will take place on the show.
