Kevin Nash: Oklahoma’s ‘Antiquated Commission’ Warning To AEW’s Nyla Rose Is Political

Last week, the Oklahoma Athletic Commission issued a “warning” to AEW about Nyla Rose wrestling in a women’s match. The commission apparently had an issue with Rose wrestling Alejandra The Lion at the ROH TV tapings on 12/20/23.

Sean Oliver and Kevin Nash discussed this subject on the “Kliq This” podcast. Oliver said he understands the commission’s stance on this for boxing and sports of a legitimate competitive nature but not for pro wrestling. Oliver asked Nash if he thinks this is an excuse for government agencies to further villify transgender people.

Nash said, “I don’t even think it’s that. I think it’s the antiquated commissions that they have when wrestling was still considered so kayfabe and it was kind of shooty. I remember we used to have, like you’d go in and the commission doctor’s there and all these guys would walk in, and their blood pressure would be off the f**king charts. I’ve never seen anybody in my life be told by one of these commission doctors that they couldn’t participate. Because they all knew, as the guy was smoking a cigarette while he did his blood pressure, that it was a work and he wasn’t gonna go out there and do anything. It wasn’t like he was gonna run the ball 30 times…So Oklahoma, because they’ve got the racket still set up, they try to politicize it. They’re gonna add one.”

Nash on if he thinks this is political. “I absolutely do in Oklahoma.”

Here is what Rose said last week about the “warning” from Oklahoma.
