It looks like WWE is bringing back one former star to the company in the near future.
This star could be aligned with Bo Dallas, who is returning to WWE television as Uncle Howdy. Plans call for Dallas to use the character again, as WWE has since been airing QR codes and other teases that are similar to what they did with Wyatt’s 2022 return.
Erick Redbeard, formerly known as Erick Rowan, got fans talking when it was announced that he had pulled out of several independent bookings, including one for East Coast Pro Wrestling (ECPW), where it was noted it was due to “new contractual obligations,” which makes it sound like he’s going back to WWE.
It was later reported Rowan was in Pittsburgh recently, a typical city where WWE sends talent to get medical tests done before they’re signed.
Rowan was part of The Wyatt Family along with Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, and Braun Strowman. Rowan was let go by WWE in April 2020.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported regarding Rowman pulling out of his dates, “The natural speculation would be WWE, with the idea of a connection with the returning Bo Dallas. WWE did not confirm that as they wouldn’t officially but within the company there was that expectation.”
