Matt Riddle was expected back at WWE Raw tonight, but unless something changes within the next few hours, it doesn’t look like he will be on the show.
PWInsider reported today that despite being expected back, Riddle has not been seen backstage as of 4 pm Eastern time. What this means is anyone’s guess because he could have opted to no-show but it’s also possible that plans changed and WWE told him to stay home.
Riddle was involved in an incident at JFK airport just over a week ago where he claimed in an Instagram post that a Port Authority Police Officer sexually assaulted him. Riddle later deleted the post.
The accusation led to Port Authority to conduct an investigation. TMZ reported that Port Authorities were shocked by Riddle’s claim. The police say that they were called about a disorderly person getting off the plane and that it was Riddle. TMZ noted, per sources, that Riddle seemed apologetic and was free to go without incident. The since-deleted Instagram post was published after all of this went down. Riddle was not at last week’s WWE Raw. That was reportedly because of an illness.
