Mercedes Mone is All Elite and has been in the headlines for the last week regarding her arrival.
Offer
Mone made her AEW debut on last Wednesday’s Dynamite: Big Business episode in Boston. This was after it was believed she had been signed since December.
The former WWE star did have talks in 2022 and late 2023 with WWE, but both times were said to be far apart on money. As previously reported, WWE sources said that Mone wanted a higher figure than what WWE was offering, “with reports she was seeking Becky Lynch-level money.”
It was said that Tony Khan had given her a substantial offer, but it was “considerably lower than the $5 million per year figure going around.” One female star said they heard the number makes her the highest-paid woman in pro wrestling.
Address
While speaking with ESPN, Mone confirmed she’s 100% healthy after suffering a broken foot last year. She also addressed her reported AEW deal.
“I mean, I’m not Mercedes Moné for no reason,” she said with a smirk. “Money changes everything. I’m always about that bag. Absolutely.”
Mone said she wants to create history and magic, which is something she wants to do in AEW. She thinks the promotion is where she can achieve those things and call home.
