Trinity Fatu, formerly known as Naomi, made her Impact Wrestling debut on Friday night at the Spring Slugfest television tapings in Chicago. The former WWE star is going by the name Trinity.
This marked her first wrestling appearance since she and Mercedes Mone, formerly known as Sasha Banks, walked out of WWE last May due to creative differences.
In the aftermath, they were suspended and stripped of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. Months later, they were granted their releases, with Mone going to NJPW and Fatu in Impact.
Fatu will work her first match for Impact at Saturday’s TV tapings.
Mone was in attendance for the tapings to show her support. In a post on Twitter, she said her former tag team partner would make an impact and gave a nod to Naomi’s Rear View finisher in WWE:
