A very interesting segment aired tonight during WWE Monday Night Raw and it would probably get the interest of a lot of MMA fans.
Samantha Irvin introduced Michael Chandler, who was sitting front row near the Netflix and TKO Group executives. Chandler grabbed the microphone and said that he was calling out Conor McGregor to “get his ass back” in the Octagon.
This is the first big example of crossover promotion between UFC and WWE since both companies are under the same umbrella. McGregor has said that he’s ready to fight this year. It’s not clear yet when the McGregor vs. Chandler fight will actually happen.
A side note on this segment…the cameraman made sure to keep the WrestleMania logo in the shot when Chandler was talking. This may be nothing and it could just be a smart way to promote WrestleMania since that Chandler clip will go viral. It’s also possible that they have something cooking with UFC fighters involved.
