Last month, on an episode of Mick Foley’s “Foley Is Pod,” the WWE Hall of Famer shared that he wanted to do one more match but wanted to go back to his roots to do so.
The idea
The former WWE Champion wanted to do a deathmatch as a reward for him to drop 100 pounds as he looked back on the times he got into shape, and it was always for another match. However, the legend doesn’t want the match to be in WWE because of the deathmatch style.
Foley isn’t getting younger as he turns 60 next June so a decision will need to be made sooner rather than later, something he’s well aware of. While doing a Sign-it-Live session for Highspots, Foley noted that he’s not sure just yet whether he will do it, but is setting the deadline for a decision by early 2025.
Deadline
“Yeah (I’m looking to do one more match). But I’d have to lose an extraordinary amount of weight and it’s not falling off like I hoped it would. So I’m gonna have to reexamine where I am at a certain point. It’s not about the money. I wanna have a fun match but I am having trouble. I’ve been working out, I feel better, moving better but it’s not showing up as of yet on the scale. So I’m not sure. I’ll have an answer by the beginning of the year… There’s a lot of different options (opponent-wise) to do such a thing.”
Foley was last in action when he worked the Men’s Royal Rumble Match in 2012.
