MJF fires back at criticism of AEW stars making WWE references in promos

AEW stars have taken digs at WWE since the promotion launched in 2019, including at AEW’s first event when Cody Rhodes destroyed a Triple H-esque throne with a sledgehammer.

Some stars making references to WWE on a regular basis include MJF and Max Caster.

MJF has mentioned on Dynamite that he has WWE official Bruce Prichard “on speed dial,” referencing the fact that the two worked together in MLW, and when he feuded with CM Punk, he brought up Punk’s departure from WWE. MJF has also made it known numerous times that he may join WWE when his AEW contract expires in 2024.

During the post-Double Or Nothing episode of Dynamite, MJF did his famous promo, demanding AEW President Tony Khan release him.

Last week on Dynamite after he returned at AEW All Out, MJF made other WWE references such as Cody Rhodes, WWE co-CEO Nick Khan, and Triple H

Former WWE referee Jimmy Korderas took exception to these references. MJF fired back at Korderas’s comments on Twitter by writing the following:
