MJF: I’m tired, I know our fans are a little tired of this run I’ve been on

The Players Tribute has published an article written by AEW World Champion MJF ahead of his title defense against Samoa Joe tomorrow night at the Worlds End pay-per-view.

MJF noted that after the match with Joe on Saturday, he has no idea what will happen afterward and he knows that people will read stories about him over the next few days related to his contract and the condition his body is in.

He also mentioned what it means to him to see the evolution of AEW as the company will celebrate 5 years in existence on January 1, 2024. He praised Tony Khan, Cody Rhodes, Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, Chris Jericho, and Jon Moxley.

He wrote more about the issues he’s dealing with and added, “I’m tired. I know that’s not what you’re supposed to say as a professional wrestler — especially not before a big world title defense in your hometown. I know I should take my vitamins, brother, order up an expensive coffee to the five-star hotel room I’m staying in (thanks, Tony), and end this article by cutting an ’80s good guy promo about the evil Samoa Joe. Let’s sell some Pay-Per-Views!!!!!!! But I don’t know, man. I’m just so, so, so tired. That’s the God’s honest truth. My hip is a mess. My arm won’t lift above my head. I’m on painkillers, which are not my thing. I can’t sleep.

But like I said earlier…… I know it’s not only me who’s tired. I know our fans are a little tired of this run I’ve been on. And for the first time since this company started, I know there’s some MJF fatigue. Which is fine, by the way — no one stays hot forever.”

It’s no secret that MJF is dealing with injuries and while it has been reported that people in WWE think he’s re-signed with AEW, MJF himself has said in interviews that he has not signed a new deal. The Players Tribue write-up makes it seem, at the very least, that he will be taking some time off to heal up. What happens then only he knows.
