More details on backstage fight, CM Punk’s dog in the room, Young Bucks/Kenny Omega side of the story

There are more details coming out on the backstage fight from Sunday night and the latest version contradicts what sources close to CM Punk and Ace Steel said

Fightful Select reports that sources close to The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega’s side of the story state that The Young Bucks went to talk to CM Punk, just like Punk said at the media scrum that anyone who has an issue with him should address it directly with him. The claim from the Bucks/Omega side of things is that The Bucks opened the door and did not kick it as claimed by the other side. It was also stated that before Matt Jackson could say anything, Punk threw sucker punches at Matt’s head, while Nick tried to intervene. Ace Steel then allegedly threw a chair that hit Nick in the eye.

As for Kenny Omega, it was said that he was trying to remove CM Punk’s dog Larry from the area because he was barking and “going nuts.” The Bucks/Omega side claims that once Omega handed the dog off, he tried to get Steel off of Nick Jackson, and then Steel bit and pulled on Omega’s hair.

Both sides reportedly continued shouting at each other and there were legal threats made by Punk’s side. There are various reports (first reported by Brian Last and confirmed by Dave Meltzer) stating that Senior Vice President & Chief Legal Officer Megha Parekh saw the fight happen.

It should be stressed that what was stated in the latest Fightful Select report is only one side of things and there is an investigation ongoing that may confirm or contradict what each side has claimed. On tonight’s AEW Dynamite, there was no sign of Punk or The Elite. At the start of the show, Tony Khan announced that the World Title would be vacated and a new champion would be crowned at Dynamite: Grand Slam in two weeks. Death Triangle became the new Trios Champions when they defeated Best Friends.
