More details on WWE’s return to India

WWE is heading back to India for the first time in five years in the new year. WWE last held a show in the country in 2017.

As previously reported, WWE has plans to run a show on a “grand scale” in Hyderabad, India, with the likely date of Wednesday, January 18. The roster for the show was expected to consist of “a mix of superstars, both Indian and international.”

Pwinsider.com reports that this is the date the company will hold the show, and it will be held at the G.M.C. Balayogi Sports Complex, an indoor stadium in Hyderabad with a capacity of 5,000 people. The report also noted that it’s expected to feature SmackDown talent mostly.

WWE has not formally announced the show. WWE previously held its ‘Superstar Spectacle’ event, a showcase of their Indian talents, in January 2021.

WWE is planning on more international events next year, including its Saudi Arabia shows and likely a return to the UK.
