Nephew Of Former WWE Star Set To Make AEW Debut

AEW is bringing in a notable name for this Saturday’s episode of Collision in Vancouver.

Among the matches set for the show that were revealed on Wednesday night include TNT Champion Adam Copeland defending against Kyle O’Reilly and Bryan Danielson in action. It will also feature “Dynamite Kid” Tommy Billington, the nephew of the late Dynamite Kid, making his promotional debut.

It will happen when he meets Dax Harwood in singles competition. He made his wrestling debut in 2018, when he worked occasionally with his brother Mark at the Billington Bulldogs.

While together as a team, they’ve worked in Canada and the UK in addition to running with MLW from 2022-2023. They last competed for MLW in January 2023. Tony Khan made the announcement, as seen below.

The Dynamite Kid, also known as Tommy Billington, was ahead of his time with his in-ring style. With his cousin Davey Boy Smith, he was also known for being one half of the tag team, The British Bulldogs.

He was a star of the Stampede Wrestling promotion, headed by Stu Hart, and a former WWE Tag Team Champion. He also had some classic matches with Tiger Mask. Ultimately, Dynamite Kid was in a wheelchair after having lost the use of his left leg in 1997 due to back and leg injuries suffered throughout his career. Billington suffered a stroke in 2013 and later passed away on his 60th birthday in 2018.

Collision will be followed by a live Rampage on Saturday night.
