Pat McAfee Signs $10 Million per Year Deal With ESPN

Pat McAfee is about to get paid big bucks again.

One year ago, McAfee became a regular on ESPN’s “College GameDay” in addition to his college football alt-broadcasts with Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions for ESPN. “The Pat McAfee Show” program has also grown into a major show on YouTube.

Wade Barrett started to fill in for McAfee as a color commentator on WWE SmackDown when the former NFL punter joined College Gameday. The idea was that he would return after the football season was over, but that hasn’t happened. McAfee did a one-off at the Royal Rumble in January and made a surprise appearance at WrestleMania 39 for a short match with The Miz.

The New York Post reports that McAfee is moving his daily show, “The Pat McAfee Show,” from FanDuel to ESPN, which will see him get paid “more than eight figures per year.” The deal would start in the fall.

He previously signed a four-year, $120 million contract with FanDuel and is in the second year of the deal.

Disney, the parent company of ESPN, is in the middle of layoffs that will result in 7,000 jobs eliminated, including those at ESPN. McAfee is expected to be at the Disney Upfronts on Tuesday afternoon.

His daily show is expected to stay on YouTube in some form, although part of it could also be on ESPN.
