PHOTO: Adam Cole went to uncomfortable lengths to keep his AEW Dynamite return a secret

Adam Cole returned to AEW on Wednesday’s Dynamite, where he cut a promo. This marked the first time he appeared in many months after concussion issues.

Cole started by noting he had good and bad news. He detailed his recovery and announced he was back. He said the bad news was for the AEW locker room.

AEW wanted to ensure the return was kept secret and went the extra mile to keep it under wraps. Fightful Select reported that a “TBD promo” segment was listed on the internal run sheet after Jon Moxley vs. Hangman Page. This was Cole’s segment.

Also, Cole took an uncomfortable route into the arena to make sure none of the fans saw him arrive as he hid in the back of a vehicle to get in, where he was sandwiched between the front and the back seats on the floor.

He also had his hoodie zipped up to cover his face to prevent anyone from seeing him. Because he wasn’t spotted before the show, he was likely hiding in a room or a bus as WWE and AEW have done to keep returns a secret.
