Positive update on WWE’s Cody Rhodes’ recovery from surgery

Cody Rhodes has been pushed as a top WWE star ever since he returned to the company at WrestleMania 38 earlier this year. He went on to have solid matches with Seth Rollins before being sidelined with a torn pectoral muscle.

His last match happened at Hell in a Cell, where he went over before getting surgery for the injury.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that Rhodes “appears to be a little ahead of schedule in healing.” He is currently working with DDP.

Things are said to be “normal” in Rhodes’ “real life,” but “any upper body weights he can use are extremely light.” Meltzer added that there is no firm date for his return. Even if there were a date, WWE would likely keep it quiet to have a big return for Rhodes.

In past interviews, Rhodes has hinted at making his return during the Royal Rumble match next year. It’s also possible that he returns a bit earlier in January at the Day 1 event since it’s in Atlanta, and that is where he grew up and still lives there.
