Randy Orton is ‘nowhere close’ to WWE return

Things were looking positive for fans hoping to see Randy Orton make a return to in-ring action heading into WWE WrestleMania 39 weekend. However, that hope slowly faded.

Leading up to it, there were hints that he was on his way back, including a recent report that noted there had been internal rumblings about Orton’s WWE status and him traveling to LA for the show.

He has been sidelined since last May and underwent fusion back surgery late last year. WWE got the word out that Orton wasn’t ready to come back to temper the expectations of fans on the biggest weekend in all of wrestling every year.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that “Orton’s back injury was nowhere close to allowing him to return to in-ring action.”

We wish Orton a speedy recovery.
