Xia Li wrestled her first match on TV in months during tonight’s WWE Raw broadcast but the match ended unexpectedly when it was called off by the referee.
As Li was hitting a combination knee to the face with a spin kick, LeRae went down. She was clearly groggy as she tried to get back on her feet to continue the match. The referee checked on LeRae and then determined that the match should be stopped. Indi Hartwell got in the ring and checked on LeRae as trainers ran down as well to check on her.
It looked like it was a legitimate injury but until WWE confirms this via their website, we don’t know for sure but the decision to stop the match is in line with the company’s concussion protocol. After the commercial break, cameras showed LeRae was shown backstage getting checked on by the trainer.
Best wishes to LeRae on her recovery and hopefully she won’t be out of the ring for too long.
