Although Brock Lesnar is technically in WWE 2K24, that doesn’t mean fans will be able to play as him after fans noticed Lesnar and Vince McMahon weren’t listed in the game’s full roster release.
Lesnar was previously removed from the WWE 2K Supercard mobile game and the WWE 2K24 Forty Years of WrestleMania edition cover in addition to WWE dropping Lesnar from its plans, including matches at the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber & WrestleMania 40.
The reason for the company distancing itself from Lesnar is due to the sex trafficking lawsuit that was filed against McMahon and WWE, with a former WWE/UFC Heavyweight Champion being named in the filing. On the same day that the suit became public, the Wall Street Journal identified Lesnar as that former champion.
Mike Straw of Insider-Gaming reports it was too late to fully remove Lesnar from the game, so it was decided to make him unplayable as a character in the game. Lesnar’s character remains in the game files.
It’s possible Lesnar may have minor inclusions within different game modes. The report added, “The closest to an answer has been a rep passing along what the company says is “the full roster” with Lesnar not included.”
Fightful Select reports that WWE has also requested not to feature Lesnar as a playable character in the game.
The standard edition of the game comes out on March 8 for PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4, while those who pre-order the Deluxe or Forty Years of WrestleMania edition will get access starting on March 5.
