REPORT: CM Punk and Ace Steel to be suspended or fired by AEW following backstage fight

Today looks to be an important day in the history of AEW as suspensions, and potential terminations are expected to be made soon following the brawl involving several top stars at All Out.

Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso reported this morning that CM Punk and producer Ace Steel will either be suspended or let go by the end of Wednesday. According to multiple sources, Punk met with AEW President Tony Khan on Tuesday.

Also, Kenny Omega, Matt & Nick Jackson, Pat Buck, Chris Daniels, Michael Nakazawa and Brandon Cutler have been, or will be, suspended by the promotion. The report noted an external third-party investigation will be conducted to look at what happened.

As previously noted, Punk voiced his frustrations during the media scrum with several notable names, including Colt Cabana, Hangman Page, and the AEW EVPs (The Young Bucks and Omega). Punk said that the EVPs have spread lies about him through the media, and they couldn’t manage a Target.

After Punk got off the podium, the fight broke out. Punk allegedly threw punches at Matt Jackson, Steel threw a chair at Nick Jackson, and Steel was biting and pulling Omega’s hair. For the latest on what went down, click here.
