NWA President/Owner Billy Corgan has recently dropped a teaser regarding big news for his promotion that he purchased in 2017, as he noted that he had signed two TV deals with a top 20 network.
No other details were provided. Haus of Wrestling broke the news today that the network is in fact The CW.
Per the report, while some logistics are being worked out, an official announcement should be coming “relatively soon.”
The two programs that are slated to air on the network will be NWA Powerrr and a reality TV show about the day-to-day, behind-the-scenes business of the NWA.
Corgan has wanted to do a reality TV show for a while and came close while running RESISTANCE Pro wrestling in Chicago as he had signed such a deal with A&E to produce one, but the network pulled the plug on reality show content, thus forcing them to scrap the project.
The show is currently filming and expected to be done soon. Powerrr will air before the reality show, but it’s still unclear whether it will be a one-hour program or two.
It won’t be live as it’s described as Powerrr will pre-tape episodes in blocks as Impact Wrestling does for AXS TV.
This is a big deal for the promotion and gives wrestlers another place to work on a bigger scale.
