WWE is looking to recreate the success with the NHL that they’ve found with the NFL and Big 12 conference.
WWE expanded its footprint in the sports world after inking a multi-year licensing deal with the NFL this past August, as the two companies agreed for WWE to create NFL-inspired WWE legacy championship belts.
The belts feature the official colors and branding of all 32 teams. The collector item is available at NFLShop.com, WWEShop.com, and Fanatics.com.
The deal is a big get for WWE as it marks the first-ever licensing agreement between the two companies. They later reached a deal with the Big 12 conference in November.
WrestleVotes reported WWE and the NHL have an agreement that would allow WWE to produce licensed NHL merchandise starting next year. This deal could open the door for other leagues, such as the NBA and MLB.
The report noted, “On the heels of major success with the NFL in releasing commemorative championship titles of each team, I’m told the WWE & NHL have a deal in place for the same. Expect NHL championships titles to be available thru Fanatics sometime in the new year.”
