Ric Flair Comments on His AEW Debut

Ric Flair made his AEW debut on Wednesday’s episode of Dynamite, years after it was believed to have happened.

When Flair departed from WWE in 2021, there was speculation that All Elite Wrestling could bring him as he’s friends with President Tony Khan and his son-in-law, Andrade, is working for the promotion. That belief disappeared after allegations were made on Dark Side of the Ring against the WWE Hall of Famer and he received backlash as a result.

On Wednesday, Flair was revealed as Khan’s gift to Sting ahead of his retirement at next year’s Revolution PPV. Sting stated Darby Allin is the greatest tag team partner he’s ever had and recalled moments he’s had in Philadelphia over the years.

Flair said he couldn’t pass on this opportunity and wanted to be along for the ride with Sting until his retirement at Revolution, indicating he will be making more AEW appearances.

Christian Cage with Nick Wayne and Luchasaurus came out, where they exchanged words, leading to a trios match with the heels taking on Sting, Allin, and a mystery partner at Full Gear being booked.

It’s unclear exactly what Flair’s contract status is with AEW, but he commented on the debut via Twitter:
