Rick Boogs Says He Can’t Talk About His WWE Release Until Non-Compete Expires

Rick Boogs was among the names to be released by WWE last month, including Dolph Ziggler, Mustafa Ali, Elias, and Shelton Benjamin from the main roster.

Boogs signed with WWE in 2017, where he went to train at the Performance Center and was later called up to the main roster, where he was paired with Shinsuke Nakamura. He returned from a torn quad earlier this year.

Boogs is under a non-compete clause for the next three months, with it expiring in December. The former WWE star previously blamed his release on a backstage political power play.

In a recent workout video, Boogs stated that he can’t talk about WWE or his release because he’s still under contract.

“I will say this, I know people are like, ‘You’re not in WWE anymore, let’s talk about it.’ I can’t guys. I’m technically still under contract for three months. My birthday is December 21 and as a birthday present, I’m free from my contract, basically. I’m just putting that out there. My birthday, December 21, that’s when I’m free from my contract. Until then, I’m still under contract, just so you know.”
