There has been a rumor circulating on social media in the last day or so about AEW Dynamite being cut back to 1 hour.
Apparently, according to those who are spreading the rumor, it’s because Warner Bros. Discovery is unhappy with the show. That is not true. The show is not getting cut back to an hour and Warner Bros. Discovery is said to be happy with AEW.
WrestlingNews.co debunked the rumor about the show being cut back and Dave Meltzer also confirmed on Twitter that the rumor is untrue. AEW Dynamite is the number 1 show on Wednesday night’s on most weeks and all signs point towards Warner Bros. Discovery likely wanting to keep the show.
The big question is whether AEW can get a significant increase for the rights Dynamite and Rampage. Their ratings are strong enough to keep executives happy so it would make no sense to scale the show back.
