The new movie, “The Iron Claw,” the story of the Von Erich family, will be in theaters this week.
The movie
Sean Durkin wrote the script and directed it while the drama was financed and produced by A24. The film’s synopsis reads as the following:
“Based on the true story of the Von Erichs, the film follows the rise and fall of the family dynasty of wrestlers who made a huge impact on the sport from the 1960s to the present day.”
Zac Efron (Kevin Von Erich), Jeremy Allen White (Kerry), Harris Dickinson (David), Holt McCallany (Fritz Von Erich), Maura Tierney (Doris Von Erich), Aaron Dean Eisenberg (Ric Flair), and Kevin Anton (Harley Race) make up the cast.

Producing alongside A24 includes Tessa Ross, Derrin Schlesinger, and Harrison Huffman. House Productions developed the film with the support of Access Entertainment and BBC Films. AEW World Heavyweight champion MJF is listed as one of the producers.
The movie will be released nationwide in theaters on Friday, December 22. The movie will later be added to HBO Max and Cinemax after its theatrical run.
