Tony Khan took questions from the media today ahead of Sunday’s AEW Revolution pay-per-view. We have the entire call below and you can scroll down for some notes.
– Khan confirmed that there are plans to increase the number of pay-per-view events per year. Khan has hinted at this before. During the call, he said that increasing the number of PPVs is one area that he sees for potential growth for the company. He mentioned 9-10 PPV events for this year as the “sweet spot.” Fightful reported this week about plans for AEW Dynasty to be added to the PPV calendar, possibly in April. Khan stated that he is looking at 2025 when AEW goes from being a “startup company” to being an “established challenger.”
– In regards to the AEW disciplinary committee, Khan noted that they have two attorneys and Bryan Danielson on the committee. He noted the good work they’ve done to handle all types of claims.
– Khan noted that Meat Madness is delayed because of Miro and Keith Lee being on the injury list.
– In regards to Kamille, he called her a “great free agent” and he enjoyed meeting her.
– Khan put over Samoa Joe and Daniel Garcia.
– Khan talked about Jennifer Pepperman’s hiring and said that she’s there to contribute to the overall product, not just one story. Khan said that “something exciting” is happening on the March 6 show in Atlanta.
– He talked about Sting and his hope that he will remain involved with AEW after his in-ring retirement.
