Fans can expect to see a special edition of WWE NXT TV in addition to the two planned premium live events that will air on Peacock.
WWE holds the NXT Battleground event next Sunday that will go head-to-head with AEW Double or Nothing from Lowell, Massachusetts. The main event will see Carmelo Hayes defend the NXT Championship against Bron Breakker.
As previously reported, WWE is planning to do a PLE for the developmental brand on August 12, although the location and name of the event have yet to be revealed.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that aside from the two PLEs, WWE is planning to do a special television episode of the Tuesday night show on the USA Network with The Great American Bash theme. That show will air on July 4th.
WWE brought the old WCW pay-per-view theme back in 2020 for NXT and has done yearly television specials since then.
2020 was a two-week event with the main events of Io Shirai vs. Sasha Banks, and NXT Champion Adam Cole vs. North American Champion Keith Lee in a Winner Takes All match.
In 2021, the show was headlined by Adam Cole vs. Kyle O’Reilly, and last year, Bron Breakker vs. Cameron Grimes for the NXT Championship served as the main event.
