SPOILER: Plans for title change at WWE WrestleMania still in place despite injury to SmackDown star

There is hope within WWE that Ronda Rousey will be fine in time for WrestleMania and the belief is that they can still move forward with what is planned for her and Shayna Baszler. Note: spoilers below.

As WrestlingNews.co first reported last week, the plan is for Rousey and Baszler to win the Women’s Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania. Meltzer confirmed this on Wrestling Observer Radio while providing an update on her injury situation.

Bryan Alvarez said, “She re-aggravated a previous non-serious injury and she should be back soon.”

Meltzer added, “From what I understand, she’s limited [and] probably will be out and exactly how much she will be recovered by, when she’s wrestling again, is unknown. But the hope is that they will still win the tag team titles at WrestleMania. That was the original idea. That’s still the hope.”

WrestlingNews.co reported last week that Rousey has been pushing to win the tag titles and that is the reason why she dropped the SmackDown Women’s Title to Charlotte Flair in December.
