A new NEVER Openweight Champion was crowned tonight at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 in Tokyo, Japan.
Anderson dropped the title to Tama Tonga. The result was never in doubt because Anderson is under WWE contract and a deal was made for him to make one more appearance for NJPW so he could drop the belt.
Anderson attacked Tonga with the belt before the bell rang. Tonga eventually recovered and it was back-and-forth action until Tonga hit 2 consecutive Gun Stuns. The second one was botched but they went to the pinfall as planned.
