The Rock made a surprise appearance tonight on WWE Friday Night SmackDown.
Things started off with Austin Theory and Pat McAfee talking back and forth in the ring. Theory mentioned that this is not SmackDown and it’s the Austin Theory Live show. McAfee reminded him that this is the people’s show and that was the cue for The Rock to come out.
Austin Theory made a comment about “Austin” and Rock being in the ring one last time and he said that he’s the real Austin. Rock took issue to Theory running down Austin. Rock got the fans to chant “you are an a**hole” but it was muted by the censors at Fox.
Theory attacked by Rock hit the spinebuster and People’s Elbow to a thunderous pop from the fans in Colorado. Pat McAfee also hit a People’s Elbow.
The big question on everyone’s mind is about The Rock possibly returning to the ring for a match. Earlier today on The Pat McAfee Show, The Rock confirmed that a match with Roman Reigns was locked in for WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles but those plans fell through because they couldn’t quite get things in line for creative. The Rock said that he wanted something bigger than just a match and he wanted the match to be the beginning of something big. He added that he’s open to doing the match in Philadelphia next year.
