Cody Rhodes made his return to in-ring action on Saturday night at the WWE Royal Rumble by winning the 30-Man Royal Rumble from the last spot in the bout, earning himself a WrestleMania 39 main event match.
This marked his in-ring return after being sidelined since last June due to a torn pec that he suffered while training heading into his Hell in a Cell match against Seth Rollins.
As Rhodes was celebrating after the match, he did a subtle shout out to The Young Bucks (Nick and Matt Jackson) by making the too sweet hand gesture followed by Kenny Omega’s iconic gun gesture before pointing to the WrestleMania sign.
The Bucks, who have been friends with Rhodes for years and helped launch AEW with the WWE star, Omega and Tony Khan, reacted to the moment in their bio, as seen below:
Did y’all peep @CodyRhodes give this little nod to The Young Bucks and Kenny tho? 👀 #RoyalRumble pic.twitter.com/pPPItpX7mq
